We studied the hill of steps from the bell tower to the main area of campus and decided navigating a stroller all the way down was a bad idea, even though a very nice student offered to help us, so we took a long route down the hill and through the grass and explored the Jesse Knight (former Humanities) Building and trekked to the top of the Joseph F. Smith Humanities Building to enjoy the vibrant view of campus and the mountains. We even happened upon a huge bouncy blow-up slide set up in Brigham Square and traded off watching Camryn so each of us could clamber to the top, jump a few times for courage, and then race down the steep slide. I even managed not to wipe out spectacularly at the bottom like the kid who slid right before me, caught his foot in a loose flap, and almost catapulted head-over-heels over the safety edge. Leave it to boys to turn a happy fun bouncy slide into a trip to the ER or a lawsuit!
After poking around in the Bookstore, dropping by Dr. Sederholm's office to see if he was there (he wasn't), and taking some time for Camryn to have some milk, we headed home and scared ourselves silly with one of our favorite X Files shows, then hit a delicious local restaurant and strolled the mall before visiting Kenny and work and coming back home for bathtime, a nightcap, and to sing little Camryn to sleep with songs from Shortsands.
Pictures of our day!
Camryn hanging out with her Aunt Katie while Mom gets ready for her day!
Camryn smiles as Uncle Kenny holds her hand.
Mommy dancing Teddy for Camryn (to "Let's Dance" by David Bowie, playing in the background) to the delight of Camryn, Aunt Katie, and Uncle Kenny!
Megan and Camryn look out over campus.
Camryn snuggles with Mom after having some milk.
We aren't sure how we feel about bath time at Aunt Katie's house!
Okay, maybe it isn't so bad!
