Thursday started out as a pretty normal day - I plowed through several phone calls, followed up with clients who can't make up their minds, and was struggling to explain a W-4 form in Spanish (and I thought it was cryptic in English!) when someone walked in. I dragged my eyes away from the tax papers and glanced up casually to see.... Megan standing in front of my desk with a mischievous smile on her face!!! It took me a second or so to compute this marvelous fact, and not just because W-4 forms are particularly mind-numbing. My sister, who I constantly miss and wish was here, is right in front of me! I was so completely taken by surprise that I briefly wondered if something was wrong, and that's why she was standing there in my office, but her grin just got bigger and I launched myself around my desk and threw my arms around her, shrieking, "Megan!! What are you doing here?!" She gallantly informed me that she had come to visit me by surprise and that I had the day off on Friday. Then she tripped out to the car and brought in a sleepy Camryn, who was the same sweet little girl that I know and love, but so much bigger! The day couldn't go fast enough, and at 5:00 pm, I leapt from my desk and shot out the door to join Megan and the Taylor clan for dinner. Then Camryn, Megan, and I all piled in the car and came home. We got Camryn all situated in her Camryn-carrier and treked to the local Blockbuster to rent some chick flicks, as Uncle Kenny wouldn't be getting home until ten. I practically danced on air, I was so thrilled. And it turned out that everyone but me knew that Megan was coming - I suspected nothing!!!
