Freak Out And Throw Stuff: Happy Birthday, Megan!

I was perched on the edge of the guest room bed last night, going through Megan's carefully-culled stash of family pictures (as well of many of her own snapshots) and admiring three decades of memories we have shared together.  Well, definitely two and at least one year of the third - after that, things got a bit more sporadic but not any less memorable or important.  Then I surreptitiously dug through my mom's far-less-organized but highly-forbidden photo closet this afternoon when I got home from work and came up with a delightful collection of memories that make me grin when I think of (many of) the reasons why I'm darn lucky to share a birthday with the indomitable Megan Moore Taylor.

For one, we always had each other to lean on for support!

Our love for music started early, and we've enjoyed many forms of the personal entertainment device since.  Since we're states apart now, I'll get to talk to Megan from my laptop and her iPad every so often, but we weren't always quite that high tech:

Megan has seen me through thick (eyebrows) and thin, and I've always been grateful for her moral support, even during those tough teenage years when we sometimes forget our sister is our best friend:

Megan even let me in on such secrets as "Plaid and stripes together are not always the answer," and "Sometimes plaid isn't ever the answer."  What would I do without my twin sister?

We've come a long way since this was the number on our birthday cake:

... and even that "Sweet Sixteen" we celebrated in the backyard and then at the church dance...

I'm still so glad that we share our 30th birthday, despite the 800 miles that separate us from blowing out our candles and sharing a slice of cake together!

Happy birthday, Megan!  And welcome to a brand new decade as full of adventure and awesomeness as the last three ever could be!

Love,
your sister, who hopes never to have to celebrate another birthday with a phone headset on.

What a fabulous montage. And now I want to spend the weekend in front of the "forbidden" photo closet and just pour through old pictures. And it only became forbidden AFTER it had been desecrated on more than one occasion.

I wish I could have put together a post like this! Alas, my stack of pictures is a bit lacking. Happy birthday!

Megan, that's because they are still here! Next time you come, we'll have to send them to you. OR we could send them out now!

Anyways, I'm glad you liked it! I'd include soooo many more, but I had the worst time trying to photograph them (I don't have our scanner set up, and besides, it sucks anyways). You're so much better at doing that (see your pictures of the beaches of Normandy for Exhibit A). Love you, and the happiest of birthdays!!!

I hope that you both had a wonderful birthday, even miles apart! Congratulations on your new house.
