A week later, here are some pics from our Halloween activities!
Kenny and Jim carving pumpkins:
I joined in too! Mom didn't because I think she's allergic to fun.
The finished products. Mine is on the left, Jim's is in the middle (of course - his is always the coolest!), and Kenny's is on the right. Ken and I didn't coordinate our pumpkins, so we just must think alike! Except that he "thinks" better than I do.
Prepping papier-mâché skulls for my "trunk-or-treat" graveyard scene.
My car in the ward Halloween party's "Trunk-or-Treat," complete with skeletons, a gravestone, and dry ice. Flickering pumpkins and battery-powered candles within the skulls lit the way.
The trick-or-treaters cleaned me out of candy (and I had a heaping cauldron bowl full!) but it was a great activity. I also had "Thriller," "Monster Mash," "This Is Halloween," and "Danse Macabre" playing on a cd player hidden in the back of the car. What an awesomely spooky night!
About Us
- Katie (and Ken) Baldwin
- OR, United States
- I am a graduate of the American Studies and Spanish programs of Brigham Young University, a lover of all things Humanities, and with weaknesses for naughty junk food, 1990s romantic comedies, beautiful clothes/shoes/makeup, and Halloween. I like to daydream about being a professor, an archaeologist, an FBI agent, or an actress. I also love my three adorable nieces. Kenny is a BYU graduate of the Engineering and Business schools who dreams of becoming a police officer. He loves everything motorcycle and guitar, baseball, basketball, and snowboarding, and would never say no to Italian food or clothes shopping. He loves horror films, watching food shows on the Travel Channel, and cop shows, all of which have led to some exciting adventures for us! We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, served missions in NYC (me) and northern California (Ken), and love the Gospel and our family and friends.

THAT CAR IS AMAZING!!! You did an amazing job!!! Where did you find that skeleton? And I love the pumpkins--I totally ruined the only pumpkin I carved this year because I was too busy talking to Melinda to pay attention.
Thank you so much!!! The trunk was all your design, just fleshed out by me. (Ha ha - that's kind of ironic, seeing as the skeleton presiding over the pic doesn't have any flesh.) He belongs to Mom and Jim and when a switch is flipped, his eyes light up green and he talks, but I turned him off since his commentary is totally cheesy. The car got really foggy, courtesy of my main helper Jim, but the flash doesn't do any favors with the dry ice!
