Adventures in Katieland

Here are some random thoughts and shots of my time while Ken has been in Oregon on job hunting assignments.  It's been a great time to get my niece Tamsin's scrapbook finished - finally! - as well as explore the library, do some job hunting of my own, try out some recipies I was savoring from Megan's blog, and even wander the neighborhood.  But I am SO excited for Kenny to get home tomorrow.  And this time, he will arrive home to a sparklingly clean house!

I think I understand now why Kenny hates it when I scrapbook....

Do you see the spot on the left that is "clear"?  Sure you do.  That is the teensy tiny area my bum gets to sit while I work.

My "after" pic of the tomato and brie flatbread recipe from Megan's blog:

The "before" bottom of the bowl for my french onion soup:

And "after", but before the soup is finished.  I was so excited to eat I forgot to take an "after" shot of the actual french onion soup!

My gorgeous new rain boots, courtesy of Dad!

An alluring side view (the weather was threatening tonight):

The cute little house across the street from my favorite pizza place that I fell in love with this evening:

The house next door that I am also sweet on:

Together houses:

A neighboring house that also earned my affection - I need all three!

A view from across the street - just look at the lush greenery!

The beautiful, gorgeous Y mountain:

The rainbow that was peeking out from the Y in the pic above - now in full view!

I am a complete disaster when I scrapbook too! But you have to be able to see everything to make it look nice.

And so many posts in August, I feel like such a special reader!

Oh, and I hope Ken gets a job here, but I do enjoy all the pictures of Utah. I would like to visit someday!

Meredith, you ARE my special reader! I just need Kennykins to get home so I can get his opinion on the "About Us" section so I can compose it, just for you!

As if he had an opinion on it....

Katie your scrapbook pictures make me want to get back into it. It would be so wonderful if you could move back to Oregon. I love reading your blog as well. Keep posting.

I always thought Provo was a hole until we moved to Corvallis and saw some of the college housing. YIKES. Provo (while run-down in areas) has some of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL homes around! I'll take whichever home you don't want!!!

I love your boots -- they WILL come in handy in Oregon. We had a misty morning yesterday and I was caught WITHOUT AN UMBRELLA. Shame on me!
