Sometimes, just sometimes, Heavenly Father smiles upon me and my goofy need for the picturesque and the sublime. Tonight was just such one of those nights. As Ken and I ate dinner, I heard a telltale rumbling from outside. A thunderstorm! I had to say that coming home, I noticed that the clouds looked weird and tense, like something was building up and about to happen. I craftily came up with the excuse to take out the garbage just to go outside. Ken came out in a few minutes to run to the car to go to work (poor guy), and I huddled against the edge of the building, just under the eaves, to watch the magnificent nighttime display. (I waited until I could tell the storm was moving northeast before accomplishing my ostensible purpose.)
I'm sure only Megan will fully appreciate the coolness of these pics, but that's worth it to me! Twins just understand things.

This house across the street from mine makes me feel all warm and cozy and cheery inside. It just exudes the entrancing Halloween spirit!

found your blog! It was good seeing you yesterday!
COOL!!! I haven't heard a single clap of thunder up here in Draper. Boo hoo. Maybe it's because the sound of my children enjoying their evening is louder than any thunderstorm!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE thunderstorms! Oh, how it takes me back to beautiful summer nights in the midwest, where I used to read books while all curled up on a couch on the screened in porch. I have a goofy need for the picturesque and the sublime, too. Did I get that right? Well, whatever you said, I crave it... which sometimes makes living in the desert just a little bit of a bummer!
Thanks for sharing!
