could fill way too many books. I was listening to the news on the radio tonight (a really good way to measure if I've grown up is to gauge my interest in talk radio, which has exploded this past year) and was confused when the newscaster mentioned the British while discussing the disastrous oil spill off the coast of Louisiana. I was hungry and needing to get home quick to meet Kenny for dinner, so I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the broadcast. In fact, I think I switched the station to the new 101.9, Music for Generation X. Side note: I am loving the music they play! But I also feel terribly guilty for my enthusiasm because the recent lineup change meant the end of the Chunga show, my sister's favorite broadcast. Why must my happiness be built on someone else's sorrow?
Anyways, I just glanced at a Fox News headline about the oil spill and, for the first time in 27.66 years, I realized that BP stands for British Petroleum. I had no idea what that stood for! I just remember the gas station name as being the punch-line in a joke my uncle told once that had me and Megan in tears with laughter. I feel rather ignorant. Did anyone else know that? And while we're at it, why are we buying petrol from a British company when we should darn well be drilling, refining, and then purchasing our own?
I need to get out more. Or into the books more. Or something.

- I am a graduate of the American Studies and Spanish programs of Brigham Young University, a lover of all things Humanities, and with weaknesses for naughty junk food, 1990s romantic comedies, beautiful clothes/shoes/makeup, and Halloween. Kenny is a BYU graduate of the Engineering and Business schools who dreams of becoming a police officer. He loves everything motorcycle and guitar, baseball, basketball, and snowboarding, and would never say no to Italian food or clothes shopping. He loves horror films, watching food shows on the Travel Channel, and cop shows, all of which have led to some exciting adventures for us! We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, served missions in NYC (me) and northern California (Ken), and love the Gospel and our family and friends.
