This time of year makes me want to dance and sing...and shuffle down the street like a decrepit zombie, looking for someone to munch on. I love Halloween! Megan and I have been celebrating the crisp fall colors and the ghoulish delights of the upcoming howliday (did I spell that wrong?) by coming up with as many Halloween-y crafts and activities as we can. Yesterday we watched "Suspicion," a creepy Hitchcock film that Karl had picked out. Well, I watched part of it and then had to leave, so I don't know how it ended, but it was chilling! Then we listened to "Thriller" and other spooky Halloween songs and danced for Camryn's delighted gaze. After dinner the four of us took a walk through the neighborhood just next to Megan and Karl's apartment complex and reveled in the glorious reds and yellows of the fall foliage, the orange and purple sunset, and the craggy mountains framing the vistas. Then back home for crafts and Karl's devilishly delicious pina coladas. What a fantastic way to get into the Halloween mood!
Here are the luminaries that Megan and I worked on together, finished and displayed out in the brisk evening air. (I blew out the tea lights right after taking the picture - I just don't trust paper bags and open flames.)

And here is my Halloween bookshelf, complete with my spooky Halloween tree from Kenny, my witch from Mom and Jim, and my brand new lantern from Megan! Isn't that lantern awesome? I'd say it was to die for (mwa ha ha ha...).

And here are some shots of our haunt through the neighborhood yesterday. It was so wonderful!

Yayyy!!! A new post! And one with ME in it! What could be better?
P.S. LOVE the shelf and luminaria!
P.P.S. You need a tripod! That, I've discovered, is the ONLY way to get those nearly-dark shots crisp and clear. Christmas, maybe?
P.P.P.S. Send me your Christmas list!
It was fun to see your blog, with all of the Halloween decor that you and Megan have come up with. I am so glad that you and Megan live close again!
