We had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day this year, celebrating not only my Irish heritage, but the second anniversary of our engagement. The weather was just as beautiful as on the day we were engaged, and I had a picnic in the bed of my pickup during lunch to enjoy the beautiful spring-like day.
The sun-filled sky over Mt. Timanogos during my lunch.
Picnicking in the back of my truck!
Kenny and I celebrated the day with a dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant down the street from our house. Don't blame me - there aren't any Irish restaurants in Provo! Then we walked home in the cool of the evening to open presents and enjoy some frosted cookies. No, they weren't frosted green like the ones we had on our picnic two years ago - I could find green cookies anywhere in Provo! These were pink, but they had lots of green sprinkles on them, so I figured they sufficed. Because it was a particularly special day, we had presents for each other - I gave Kenny some much-needed grill accoutrements, and he presented me with a beautiful book on Italy and tickets to the play "Phantom." The most creative part of his gift was a hilarious card with a mummy on the front that reminded him so much of my Halloween costume that he couldn't stop laughing when he saw it and had to buy it for me....with a beautiful message inside that he had written in perfect Italian!
My awesome St. Patrick's Day/Anniversary card:
So I guess our day wasn't gigantically Eire-centric, but hey - we wore green and I sang "Danny Boy" to myself as I got ready for work in the morning, so what else could you ask for?
A few shots of the homeland for the Irish in us all:

Tee hee hee--for some reason, that mailbox reminds me of the scene in "Waking Ned Devine" when that evil old lady goes to telephone the lottery people and the returning parish priest mows the telephone booth straight off the cliff with his car. HILARIOUS!!!
p.s. Love the shades!!!
I totally forgot about that part of the movie - that was such an awesome scene!!!
