Pics from our honeymoon, part 2

On a walking tour of the Gaslamp District in San Diego, once a rough and colorful part of town known as the Stingaree:

A reportedly haunted hotel (the haunted room is the far right bottom window).

The lobby of the luxurious hotel.

Up the stairs to the haunted room - the hair stood up on the back of my neck!

A gilded lion discovered in the renovation of a building (now the Hard Rock Cafe).

The stained glass ceiling of the Hard Rock Cafe, donated by the local Elks Club. (Don't go there to eat, though - we unwittingly paid $18 for two non-alcoholic drinks!!! Luckily, they let us keep the glasses.)

A cleverly-named pub located on the way out of town near the wharves.

See the gate to the left of the building? Sneaking into the alley would lead you to a number of brothels. It was a rough part of town!

A typical building in the Gaslamp Quarter, restored to its original elegance.

Old Town San Diego:

At the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center. Grandma Mickey and Grandpa Bud served a mission here fifteen years ago and we visited them here when I was nine. Our family gathered beneath this painting for a picture during our visit, and here I am again with my new husband!

On a main street in Old Town San Diego admiring all the Mexican restaurants (before dining at one!)
